Estate Planning
Probate and Trust Administration
Elder Law
Estate planning involves more than avoiding or reducing estate taxes. It is an ongoing plan for distribution of property at an individual’s death. It consists of identifying goals and desires, in addition to detecting pitfalls. Estate planning may include planning to save or reduce taxes, avoid probate or reduce its cost, provide for incapacity, or protect your assets from creditors. A properly crafted estate plan is a kind and loving thing to do for your family, as it provides direction during difficult times. My services include, but are not limited to, the following areas in Estate Planning:
- » Wills
- » Revocable "living" trusts
- » Irrevocable trusts, including life insurance trusts
- » Business succession planning/buy-sell agreements
- » Pre-marital agreements
- » Tax planning
- » Charitable planning
- » Asset protection planning
Probate And Trust Administration:
Probate is the legal process by which a person’s debts are paid and assets are distributed upon her or his death. Individual state laws direct the probate court how to distribute the deceased’s estate. State laws and procedures vary greatly, so, it is important to consult a firm with expertise in this area of the law to ensure that the deceased’s assets are distributed correctly. Attorneys from other states rely on my skill in Florida Trust and Probate Administration when it is necessary to transfer assets from Florida to another state. My services include:
- » Probate court appearances and pleadings
- » Assistance in collecting, valuing, selling and distributing assets and continuing businesses
- » Assistance in and preparation of federal estate and gift tax returns
- » Assistance in the preparation of Florida intangible tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns
